HENDERSON POLICE CHIEF SIDWELL: PRESENTATION ON SALARY INCREASES:
Henderson Police Chief Keith Sidwell is requesting a 15-percent raise for his sworn officers and to reclassify the pay grades of each position, except his own, by two levels, with the beginning yearly pay of an officer to be $29,911. The city’s top law enforcement officer in a presentation to the Henderson City Council cited his personnel’s increased workload, along with his problems with recruitment and retention in a small city with metropolitan-like crime statistics for North Carolina.
